Soul Keys closes his latest project with “East Shandis,” a traditional Maskandi recording that also serves as the title track of his 13-song Album. Released on September 26, 2026, the song introduces the traditional sound and vocal style that runs through the project.

Running for 8 minutes and 34 seconds, the solo record is built around intricate acoustic guitar picking and rapid-fire Zulu spoken-word delivery. Soul Keys keeps the arrangement rooted in the expressive performance style associated with traditional sounds.

The production leaves plenty of room for the guitar to lead the rhythm, while carefully placed vocal phrases add movement and character. Clean string patterns and spacious acoustic arrangements help maintain the earthy feel of the recording.

Released on the 26 of September, “East Shandis” stays close to traditional Zulu folk structures. Its use of rhythmic guitar work, call-and-response elements, and spoken vocal passages gives the song an authentic cultural identity.

As the closing track of the album, the record establishes the direction of Soul Keys’ thirteen-track project. It is a focused introduction to his unique sound, built around traditional instrumentation, energetic delivery, and strong Zulu musical influences.
